{Married} Jess & Matt

Ever hear the expression "It's better to have 4 shiny quarters than 100 pennies"? For a lot of reasons, I believe this statement holds so much truth! Sometimes, finding a jar big enough to hold and care for all those pennies ends up being a lot more work than just fitting those 4 pretty quarters in your pocket where they are safe and sound, close to you always. For Jess and Matt on their wedding day, it wasn't quarters, of course, that made their day so perfect (even though, let's be honest here, quarters ALWAYS come in handy)... it was people; 14 wonderful, loving and supportive people to stand by their sides in the backyard of their own home to witness them seal the deal and say "FOREVER" together.

I have had a couple of small backyard weddings this year so far and I have found that just because there are less people than your "average, run-of-the-mill" wedding, doesn't mean the day isn't full of big, BIG love. There's something so magical and intimate about these weddings, something that chokes me up every. damn. time! There's nothing better than surrounding yourself with those people you call 'YOUR PEOPLE'. Through thick and thin, through rich or for poor, for better or for worse, these are the people you call when you need anything at all. It's so special to realize that, when it comes down to it, THESE are the only humans (and doggies!) you need by your side when you say "I Do" to the person you love with every part of you, the person you are welcoming into your 'circle' until death do you part.

Jess & Matt, needless to say, I had a truly wonderful time photographing and witnessing you proclaim your love for each other at your sweet little home in front of your MVP entourage. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of that! I hope these pictures bring you back to your very personal and perfect day.

xoxo
